Meet Miss Sarah

As a Michigan-based acrylic artist, my own work is deeply inspired by the natural rhythms and beauty of the world. After honing my skills and studying art at Michigan State University, I developed a style focused on vibrant hues and dynamic compositions.

Alongside my journey as a working artist, I have spent the last 23 years teaching elementary art within the Troy School District. Bringing my passion for exploration, nature, and color into the classroom every day has been an absolute joy. This dedication to young learners allows me to craft a supportive, skill-building environment designed to truly inspire the next generation of creators.

My Approach to Art Education

I believe that every child is an artist, and quality art education should be accessible to everyone. My mission is to provide children with an engaging, enriching environment where they can discover the joy of creativity, build real skills, and find their own artistic voice.

Art education is about more than just making crafts; it’s about learning to see the world in a new way. In my lessons, students dive deep into foundational concepts while building confidence and having fun.  Students learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting, including some of the fluid blending and vibrant color mixing techniques I use in my own work!  We explore concepts like line, color, shape, texture, and balance, giving children the tools to express their unique vision.  I teach students how to unlock their creativity anytime, anywhere.  Whether your child is picking up a paintbrush for the very first time or already filling sketchbooks, they will find a welcoming space here to learn, grow, and create.
